As previously mentioned, I have been toying with the idea of podcasting. Well, playtime has officially begun! I’d like to invite you to take a listen to my very first podcast, and let me know how I did. After a couple of dozen tries, I think I finally got something that might be worth posting. One caveat, though: I did this completely unscripted, so while I am comfortable uploading it, it’s perhaps not the best I could do. I just had to do it once, and see what happens. I hope you like it ![]()

Well, that was it. Do you think that podcasting has a place here on The Incurable Romantic? Is podcasting in your future? Let me know what you think in a comment below

Marc you are a NATURAL at podcasts. It was SOOOOOOOO cool to hear your voice. I loved this podcast. I am currently recording them as well but haven’t worked out how to get them up on my site. Mine so far are mostly readings of poetry, or post I’ve written and like, or other things I’ve written.
BUT BUT BUT…I’ve been thinking lately about doing some “free form” podcasts with no preparation…just me talking. That is what you’ve done here and I really really really like it. This encourages me to be myself and to do some free form podcast.
This one you did was wild. It’s was like you right here. It definitely is better than writing. This is REALLY exciting. I’m sitting her grinning. I am so proud of you and excited that you can do this. It is VERY VERY encouraging for me. It encourages me to keep going into the areas my heart was leading me.
After reading yours and Dawne’s posts here I thought I might do both on my site. Write the post and podcast it for those who can’t see. It will take me awhile to sort all this out as I can’t seem to get the podcasts onto my site.
But at least I now know 100% that I am on the right track. This is absolutely exciting what you’ve done. Also, you sound GREAT, wonderful voice, natural, very clear and like you are just talking to us. I like your style; it’s real.
YES!!! Definitely do the podcasts. I can’t wait for the next one. Hugs, Robin
Truly delightful
This was a great idea and I may try it myself.
You and Dawne have a wonderful weekend.
@Bunny, @Robin;
I’m glad you ladies liked it, now just imagine what it will be like when I actually have something to say! lol Now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it, I have to admit that I really enjoyed doing it, and am fairly certain that I will be doing more podcasts in the future. It was actually kind of fun
Robin: for getting your podcasts up on your blog there are a variety of plugins available for wordpress. The one I just used is called wordTube, and can handle mp3’s, video and images. You can organize them into playlists, etc. I am looking to see what other plugins are available, as the one problem that I ran across with wordtube is that it created some sort of comflict with my sitemap plugin. You can find wordTube here: http://alexrabe.boelinger.com/wordpress-plugins/wordtube/
The instructions are a little vague on using the plugin, so if you decide to give it a try and need some help, drop me an email, I’ll be more than happy to walk you through it.
Cheers, Marc
Oh, I enjoyed it so much! Even the background cough and rambling; you’re REAL!
You’re right, Marc, that it ratchets communication up to a different level.
Your voice is so warm and soothing, so welcoming. It doesn’t matter what you talk about, I would listen to you. Please take this as the compliment it’s intended to be: Your delivery reminded me of my dad, and that’s a high honor. I sense you to be very thoughtful and caring, and if you’ve something to say, I would love to hear it.
I’d like to say I’d return the favor, but just putting thoughts on a blog was a huge leap for me! Maybe in time.
Thank you for such a sweet treat to start the weekend. I hope yours is truly beautiful.
ok, now I’m starting to blush… thanks Julie, both for your comments and the compliment, it truly is encouraging
