I love gemstones, particularly the colored ones and I really like how you can send a message to someone you love by the gemstone you pick. You see, just as flowers have their language, so do crystals and gems and there are many people who believe that they also have power. I believe that gemstones and crystals do have power because of a number of experiences I’ve had with them. There are crystals and gems reputed to enhance telepathy, encourage healing, assist with clairvoyance, balance the human energy field and much more. However, here I’m going to focus on some crystals and gems that assist us in expressing the power of love to another.

Crystals

Herkimer Diamonds: These crystals are often quite small, most often white, usually double terminated and a very bright variety of quartz. These stones are said to help us attune to someone we love, especially if they also have one. This attunement is apparently a strong but gentle heart connection.

Kyanite: Crystals of kyanite are most often found in black, opaque fans and in blue blades, although it can be found in green, white, pink and yellow. Gem quality stones of the blue variety are also available. Blue kyanite is said to increase our ability to lucid dream when placed under our pillow at night and any telepathic ability with another.

Chiastolite: This stone is a form of andalusite and is also known as Cross Stone and looks somewhat like a four leaf clover when cut in cross sections. This stone is said to be powerfully protective and helps to keep negative thoughts away from the holder that might come from others and to keep at bay any negative thinking the holder might have. It’s also said to transform any disharmonies, such as conflicts and dissension, into a harmonious situation.

Chrysocolla: This beautiful blue-green stone helps with communication and drawing off negativity. It is also said to aid in meditation and gaining serenity. A good stone for relationships especially if they’ve become rocky as it can help to stabilize and heal. This is a soft stone with a hardness of about 3, so it requires careful handling. It is suitable as a pendant, but should be taken off when bathing.

Gemstones

Topaz: Topaz is traditionally thought to bestow strength, grant long life, bring success in one’s endeavors and ensure fidelity in relationships. It is thought to help one with forgiveness, finding joy and bringing abundance. In the case of blue topaz, it’s thought to additionally aid significantly in communication.

Spodumene: The pink variety, Kunzite, is a luminescent stone; it will give off light after being exposed to UV light. It has also been found that some specimens will give off light if you rub them. This light producing aspect is interesting as the stone today is associated with love in all its forms; from self-love and romantic love, to divine love. It is believed to help one to be gentle, kind and experience joy because it allows them to draw on the love of the Universe. The green variety is called Hiddenite and is also said to help one regain spontaneity in relationships. This stone is believed to help with healing the heart and counter the stress, fear and anxiety around issues dealing with money. To learn more about spodumene’s light characteristics, you can read a document here (pdf).

Ruby: Rubies are thought in Vedic lore to have gender: The darker reds of rubies are male and the lighter, brighter reds are thought to be female. Ruby is believed to reconcile disputes, bring health and formidable protection to the wearer. This protection is said to be so strong, that the wearer could “dwell without fear in the midst of enemies and be shielded from adverse fortune”. It is also thought to bring vitality, power, abundance and remove evil thoughts.

Morganite: This stone is a type of beryl and is also known as pink emerald. Morganite is said to bring about the abundance of things intangible such as love, joy, and happiness. It is thought to help make us aware of the love the Universe has for us and as such, also help us to find our life path. It’s a stone that can help someone find their one and only, or help deepen the connection with the one who is already in our life.

Rose Quartz: The structure of quartz involves corkscrewing (helix) chains of silicon tetrahedrons. The corkscrew takes four tetrahedrons in order to repeat itself, or three turns. Each tetrahedron is essentially rotated 120 degrees. Quartz can also have left and right handed crystals just as a corkscrew can screw in a left handed way or in a right handed way. This is said to correspond as a geometric version of DNA. Rose quartz is believed to help one find their life partner, to dispel fear, dissolve anger and resentment and instill faith and hope. It is believed to help keep one’s interactions with other in state of harmony and help heal the heart.

Petalite: Is most often cut as a clear stone and is rather bright and sparkly when well cut. This stone is said to bring bliss, focus, tranquillity and the expansion of one’s awareness. It is also believed to be a powerful but gentle enhancer of telepathy and clairvoyance and is reputed to activate and energize the energy centers of the body.

Gem Silica: A beautiful brilliant blue stone, Gem Silica is Chrysocolla in quartz making it a much harder stone. This is another stone to aid communication, bringing eloquence and allowing one to speak lovingly from the heart, which in turn helps in improving understanding in relationships. It is a stone that’s said to bring one joy and amplify the power of one’s prayers.

There are a number of other stones that express how much we love someone such as Rhodochrosite, Larimar and some of the Tourmalines. There are so many ways that gems and crystals can express the power of love: Protection, communication, happiness, abundance, dreams, ability, success, healing; the list is long, but I hope this short one I’ve provided has given you some ideas.
