Is it any surprise that some of the most romantic sayings to ever be uttered by man came from the bard himself, William Shakespear? While there are romantic sayings just as eloquent and beautiful from any number of poets and authors, I’m feeling a little Shakepearian today, so here are a handful of love quotes from the pages of literary history for you to enjoy.
My heart is ever at your service.
- Timon of Athens
The more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite
- Romeo and Juliet
So dear I love him that with him,
All deaths I could endure.
Without him, live no life.- Romeo and Juliet
Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.
- Sonnet 116
Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind; and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream
What are your favorite romantic sayings?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackAs I get older I realize that love just IS. It is not about “in love”, not about “feel love for”, not about “love ya’”, not about “did love”, not about “fell out of love”, not about “love triangles” : ) not about age, not about “same sex…only” : ) not about religion, not about age, not about money, not about, not about, not about. LOVE is ……LOVE…period.
Love feels peaceful in my body and soul. It feels enduring and all encompassing, Something that is aways with me. Eternal. It frees and does not bind me or others. It has no need of judgment or expectation. It expresses itself with words, but more importantly with loving ACTIONS. To JUST LOVE, period, feels so at ease and kind, so compassionate and accepting that it heals everything it touches.
Bless you for inspiring me to feel this beauty here on this page. Everyone should feel LOVE. It saddens me deeply that so many know only pain. That is why your work is so important. Every ripple of love is like a pebble thrown into a pond; it’s ring ripple outward and outward and outward. Thank you.
The words, “I love you” are simple enough and direct to the point for me…:)
