Erotic stories can be a wonderful way of spicing up a relationship, and the good news is that if you can write a decent letter, you can write an erotic story. The key is, as they say in the real estate business, location, location, location! By that I do not mean just the setting, but rather the environment and mood that the setting evokes. Poorly written erotica focuses far too much on the action and too little on the people and situations that make a story worth reading in the first place. If this is your first time writing a story for your lover, I would suggest starting in a setting known to both of you, just so that you don’t have to spend inordinate amounts of time explaining everything.

The story should be about you and your partner, in a setting that’s believable and attainable for the pair of you, since this increases the power of what you write. Let it build from something everyday and ordinary and lead into something extraordinary, perhaps even a little daring for both of you. You could start with washing the dishes and your partner is watching you. They get so engrossed in the details of you that they lose themselves in the moment. Then they walk over to you and begin to kiss the back of your neck or perhaps they run their hands over your shoulders and down your arms which turns into an embrace. This could be followed by more kissing on neck and shoulders. You get the idea. This can be a wonderful and safe way to explore fantasies without having to make the commitment of actually trying it in the real world.

Take the time to develop the story, gradually turning up the heat as you go. Keep in mind your partner’s likes and dislikes. If she doesn’t like foul language, don’t use it. Having said that, don’t be afraid to explore some fantasies that you think that the two of you might enjoy. If you’re not sure, keep it low key and be sure to ask them about it later. You may find out something mew about your partner, something that they were afraid to bring up with you before. The most important thing to remember is this: the story is for your partner! Write according to their preferences, not your ego’s wishes.

Alternatively, you could write a sensual letter about how much your lover turns you on. If you do this one, you must be detailed and specific. You could and perhaps should include what they do that lights up all your buttons. Again, detailed and specific, but not “technical”. The letter will work best if it’s sensual and erotic rather than pornographic since emotions are something that plays heavily into this. I’m not saying there’s no place for that, but a person who feels loved and sexy is going to respond more strongly than one who is made to feel like nothing more than a body that you use to fulfil your desires, or that you are only that for them. Make sure to tell them how it makes you feel, both on a physical and emotional level.

If you and your partner have separate computers, there’s also a third alternative you could try: Erotic chat. For the chat, use a program like Skype since it’s very private and secure. You could start first by thinking about how your partner makes you feel, especially when they get things right. After you’ve done this for a bit, start up a conversation with your partner telling them how you’re feeling and then tell them why: Tell them the thoughts you had before you started talking to them, then let the chat go where it will. Make sure to explain how you are feeling, and what you would like to do with them, once you are together again.

Because you will be using your names in your erotic stories, make sure that your partner receives the story in a safe and secure manner. Chatting or sending the story via email while they are at work may not be the best idea, as many companies routinely monitor these communication channels, just to make sure that their employees aren’t wasting company time. This could result in a highly embarrassing situation at the very least. Once you have a secure delivery method, go ahead and write! The titillation factor alone will make it all worthwhile.
